Biography
Aaron was born in South Wales in Great Britain. Growing up near the countryside surrounding the coal mining and industrial towns of South Wales, he developed a love of the outdoors and photography was a natural compliment to hiking, climbing and kayaking. From the age of sixteen, Aaron began backpacking around the countries of western Europe, but it was not until he set eyes on the American West that he fell under the mesmerizing spell of the Sacred Landscape and began his journey of capturing images with the slow and painstaking art of large format photography.
Even though the landscape of Wales is certainly beautiful and rich in history, nothing he had ever seen in Britain or Europe could compare to the vast, untouched and undeveloped magnificence of the American West. "When you stand in the lap of its marvelous enormity, beneath its boundless skies, this sacred place speaks to you of freedom, of balance, of peace. The land here is truly enchanting, wild and unforgiving, achingly beautiful, and ever since I set foot here, I have remained spellbound..." Living and working in Reno, Nevada, Aaron spends as much time as he can in the deserts of the southwest. |
